Q. What is Hot Line?
A. Hot Line Service is a card registry that protects you against possible fraudulent use of all your credit, debit and calling cards should they ever be lost or stolen. Once informed of your cards’ loss or theft, we’ll advise your card issuers to cancel the cards. We also request that replacement cards be sent to you as soon as possible. Once we receive your call, we assume full responsibility for any fraudulent charges that may appear after the cards were cancelled. Hot Line also provides no-charge, optional services that include DateReminder, a Change of Address service, and a nationwide toll-free Voice Mail Message Centre.

Q. Who’s behind Hot Line?
A. Hot Line is a service with over 20 years of experience servicing and protecting Canadians from fraudulent charges on their cards. Hot Line is provided to cardholders by Aimia Proprietary Loyalty Canada Inc. through partnerships with leading Canadian card issuers. Q. How much does Hot Line Service cost?
A. Hot Line Service costs $24.95 CDN plus GST per year, or $59.95 CDN plus GST for 3 years. We also offer a Lifetime Membership at $180 CDN plus GST. You will make 12 monthly payments of $15 CDN each. After the twelfth month, no further payments are required and you will be protected for the rest of your life. We accept payment by credit card. Q. Does Hot Line Service renew itself each year automatically?
A. To ensure that protection remains uninterrupted, yearly and 3-year memberships are automatically renewed at the end of their term. You may, however, cancel at any time and receive a credit for the unused portion of your membership fee.

Q. Who is covered by my Hot Line membership?
A. All cards belonging to your spouse and dependent children under 21, living either at home or away as full-time students, can be registered. They are covered at no extra cost even if their account numbers are different from yours.

Q. Can anyone access my card details?
A. No. This is a secured site. All information online is password-protected and available online only to you. Your card details are stored in strict confidence in our computer system. Hot Line employees will only access your records if you request service.



Q. How many cards can I include on my registration? Is there an extra charge?
A. You may include as many cards on your registration as you wish. There is no extra charge.

Q. Will I receive written confirmation after reporting the loss or theft of my cards?
A. Yes. You will receive a confirmation letter listing which card companies were notified of your loss. At the same time, you will receive a form to register the number of replacement cards that you require or you may do it online.

Q. Am I covered if the cards are used without my knowledge?
A. With Hot Line you are fully covered from the time we take your loss/theft report. You should check your card account statements upon receipt each month, however, and contact your financial institution directly if you notice any irregularities.

Q. What about lost or stolen ABM/Debit Cards?
A. From the moment we take the loss/theft report, you’re protected against the fraudulent use of your debit cards provided that you have taken reasonable precautions not to disclose your personal identification number (PIN) to any other person, and that your PIN was kept separate from your cards.
